Heather Hearon, DDSDr. Heather Hearon is a native Arizonan who grew up in Tucson. After graduating from the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Hearon decided to pursue dentistry at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. She earned her Doctorate in Dental Medicine and completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program here on Maui. It was during her residency that she decided to stay and make Maui her home.

So, what drew Dr. Hearon to dentistry in the first place? Her childhood dentist. She remembers going to the dentist and always being curious about what it would be like to be the one helping with people’s teeth. After exploring dentistry further in college, she became passionate about dental care and realized she wouldn’t want to be doing anything else in the world. She finds dentistry fascinating, and she stays up to date with the latest and greatest while enjoying all the challenges dentistry brings.

What does Dr. Hearon love to do for fun (besides dentistry, of course!)? She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially outside enjoying the beach. While at UCSD, she was an All-American collegiate swimmer and has recently been getting back into the pool. However, most of her free time is consumed by her son who is one of the cutest kids you’ll meet.

Her message to patients: Dr. Hearon’s focus has always been to help people discover their own unique and beautiful smiles through education and prevention. She also devotes her attention to cultivating a relationship of trust and knowledge because she understands that some patients come to the dentist with anxiety. “Very often patients have come in to see us with fear and anxiety, just scared of even sitting in the dental chair. The most common phrase I hear is: ‘It’s not you, I just really hate coming to the dentist’ And that’s when it kicks in for me. That’s when I focus on communication and reassurance to let them know they’ve come to the right place. I pride myself in taking care of the person first, and the teeth second.”
